He is sentenced to life without parole for murdering the child of a doctor who performed an abortion on his wife. He shares this information with Ryan O'Reily and his brother Cyril and Ryan is disgusted that he would kill a child. Cyril on the other hand is not visibly saddened by the information and informs Cudney that he should work on what he is going to say to the doctor's son when he sees him in heaven, as he already knows what he is going to say to Gloria Nathan's husband when he sees him, that is if they let him in.
Plot Summary[]
Season 3[]
Cudney is one of the Christians in Oz and refuses to participate in the prison boxing tournament. He also tries to talk Cyril O'Reily out of participating. When Cyril's brother Ryan finds out, he beats Cudney with a Bible and forces Cudney to tell Cyril that God wants him to box and after that to never speak to him again. Later, he pays Cudney to steal some chloral hydrate which O'Reily was using to spike the water of Cyril's opponents in the boxing tournament. When Cudney finds out about this, he threatens to tell the guards; before he can, however, O'Reily pays Yuri Kosygin to kill him. Cudney was later found dead in his cell with two stab wounds to the neck.
