Character Summary[]
- "Prisoner number 99S917, Glen Shupe. Convicted April 22, 1999 - Manslaughter. Sentence: 15 years, up for parole in 8."
- ―The Narrator[src]
A drug addict, arrested for killing his opponent during a darts game. Glen Shupe was seen as a background character since Season 2. In Season 5, he had a bigger role.
In a deleted scene from Season 3, Shupe admitted to being a Deadhead, following the Grateful Dead on tour and dealing drugs to support himself. This is suspect, though, as he also claimed to have killed his girlfriend when Jerry Garcia died. This may differ from his official crime of manslaughter in the bar.
Plot Summary[]
Seasons 2 & 3[]
Shupe can be seen as a background character.
Season 4[]
While arriving in the laundry room, Shupe discovered Nate Shemin's body. Horrified, Shupe ran away screaming.
Season 5[]
In need of drugs, Shupe lied to Ryan O'Reily that Chinese inmate Li Chen was going to rape Ryan's mother, Suzanne Fitzgerald. During a fight, Cyril O'Reily stabbed Chen to death and was sent to solitary until his trial. Then, Ryan ordered Shupe to admit he lied talking about the rape, but Shupe refused to change his story so Ryan made a deal with Enrique Morales. He would kill Jia Kenmin and the Latinos would injure Shupe. Ryan manipulates the COs, who led by Tom Robinson, murdered Kenmin in solitary. The Latinos did their part, cutting off Shupe's arm.
Season 6[]
Forced by Ryan, Shupe admitted to Arnold Zelman Cyril stabbed Chen in self-defense. Zelman tells Ryan that Shupe's statement doesn't matter anymore, because Shupe is a compulsive liar, and using him as a witness would do more harm than good.
Kill Count[]
