Character Summary

"Prisoner number 01Y218, Alvin Yood. Convicted January 20, 2001 - Aggravated assault of a minor. Sentence: 12 years, up for parole in 7."
The Narrator[src]

A small town's sheriff, Alvin Yood was convicted after beating a minor during an interrogation after the boy spat on him. Yood was sent to Oz, at Unit J. He is like an old-time prisoner one would see in Western movies, having an I've seen it all mentality. He loves to eat food and likes to keep his reading well-rounded with subscriptions to Swank, Better Homes and Gardens, and Newsweek.

Plot Summary

Season 4, Part II

After attempting to kill Governor James Devlin, Clayton Hughes was arrested and sent to Unit J, with Johnny Basil, who's in for killing a cop while undercover, and Yood. Basil and Yood were always fighting with Hughes. While talking on the phone, Claire Howell is locked in her office by Hughes, who stabs Basil to death. Yood attacks Hughes, who is taken to the solitary. Then, Ryan O'Reily, tired of being raped by Howell, pays Yood, who bumped Howell down the stairs, breaking her pelvis.

Season 5

This season is pretty calm to Yood, who takes Tobias Beecher's job as Sister Peter Marie's assistant.

Season 6

Beecher is sent to Unit J, so the Aryan Brotherhood can't hurt him until the day he is to be released. Mayor Wilson Loewen is arrested and sent to Unit J. There, during a huge dinner, Loewen gets sick and Beecher saves his life. Then, Yood tells Beecher that the Aryan Brotherhood killed his father and he must do something about it. Beecher is released and Yood is alone in Unit J 'until Willy Brandt arrives. He is sent to Unit J because the Protective Custody Unit is full. Then, Perry Loftus orders CO Adrian Johnson to kill Brandt. The next day, Brandt is dead. Yood witnessed it, and for his own survival, refused to tell who the killer was.
